As I am snowed in lying with my two needy dogs in the guest bedroom of my best friend’s house; I am still feeling so grateful to be home in Kansas City. I have the luxury of having friends and family nearby to help with this huge transition, a warm cozy bedroom, soaking up the closeness of a dear friend who I can comfortably coexist with. Am I beginning to feel a little cooped up and stir crazy? Absolutely. The gym is calling my name however my little Lexus says otherwise. So it looks like I have no excuse not to blog about my experiences and the feelings that come with this experience. I’ve already connected with a few admirers here and have gotten to have a late Christmas with my family. New Year’s was another cozy “stay-in” night with a dear friend. There’s not much to figure out or “do” right now. Winter is a lesson in stillness. And a lesson in shoveling snow for the first time in many years. I’m looking forward to New York on the 16th; trading one frigid location for another, then another; Chicago, Kansas, and New York. Finding the beauty and romanticizing the moments during these sleepy winter days is a skill set that really fosters patience and appreciation for warmer days to come.
